    60l Fermenter..

I use a 60L fermenter to make 46L batches. I don't lift the fermenter at all. I went to Bunnings and bought a heavy duty pot plant coaster. Fits the 60L fermenter no probs. Then I made a ramp and I push the fermenter up the ramp and into the fridge. No lifting required. I'm also going to tie...

AHB Wiki: Keg Spear Removal II

There are plenty of places to buy the correct tool (Sanke knife) for removing the snap ring and its cheap. http://morebeer.com/view_product/7544/1034...25fb72475b47a97 http://morewinemaking.com/view_product/754...PSESSID=e3690d9 http://www.stpats.com/oakbarrels.htm

    Getting Ready To Setup Kegs

I went the expensive route and used a 2mm sheet of polycarbonate(Lexan) for the door skin. It cost about $70 but it will never warp, absorb water or leech anything into the fridge like plywood 'might'. Plus its easy to clean (if it ever gets dirty  ) Cheers

How Much Would You Pay For A Beer?

I'll never pay $450 for a bottle of beer. I don't care how good it is. I agree with the wank value comment. People with more money than sense will probably buy it to show off, the Dom of the beer world.

    Australia Day Conundrum: Snag Angle

I don't cook snags on the grill. I've found everytime I cook them on the grill the fat drips down and I end up with a massive fireball. I cook them on the hotplate and find they taste better as well. I don't tend to use a lot of heat either, even though I like my snags well cooked, I'd rather...

    Cold Plate

See this is what I have experienced personally with every keg show I've done. Wake up the next morning and finish off the beers the other pussies should have drunk. Open the lid and there is water down the bottom with ice floating on top, and brr its cold and seems to work better than what the...

Photo Tutorial - Removal Of 50l Keg Spears

I wouldn't even bother opening it. Just pull the torpedo valve/1way valve out of the beer out of your coupler. Fill it up with a mix of water and napisan/sodium percarbonate. Leave it overnight, then drain it out, turn it upside down, then flush it out with water for a while till you are...

    Cold Plate

I've been looking at building my own magic/miracle/jockey box as well re: below thread http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...19355&st=15 I was looking to go the stainless coil route. However I've pretty much decided to just go for a cold plate. As for using copper coils: Me...

    Kegging Questions

1 word Aluminium. I hate cans. Same deal with coke too. Tastes much better in glass then either cans or even plastic PET's Your kegs are stainless, so its totally different. To age them in the keg I think the best results come from bulk priming. Though I'm only very new at kegging myself and...

    A True Hero

I remember watching him wrestle when I was a kid and was just in awe at the man mountain. I never knew about his drinking exploits and what can you say about that. I'm speechless :o

    Your Wife And Beer

No probs here either. Mrs HKS has assisted in putting down every batch we have ever brewed. She loves beer and drinks 1 for 1 with me. In fact I have to make sure I don't get distracted otherwise I fall a few beers behind and well that's less beers for me. However when there is only 1 beer...

    Conical Fermenter Jacket

Peltiers are usually low voltage but high wattage. I don't know what size they use for the conical jacket but for a peltier to cool something that large it would have to be high wattage, well over 300W. So they certainly aren't economical to run even compared to a fridge.

    Introduce Yourself.

Its funny because that's exactly what we were talking about last night. We indentified 3 types. The type who just goes and buys whatever they please without telling you. The 2nd type who tells you they are going to buy something but doesn't ask, they just tell you. The 3rd type who tells you...

    Scary Market Research.

 That was hilarious. I especially liked the part when they asked who do you think would drink that. Somehow I don't think they are their target market. Cheers

    Introduce Yourself.

Haha, yeah she was just joking around about the term SWMBO. As you may have noticed we both had had quite a few last night, well past the 3/4 carton mark by then. Son is away at the grandparents and we were kicking back enjoying a good beer drinking session. That's when I started talking about...

    Introduce Yourself.

Too right mate. Not only does she like beer and homebrew especially, and has helped me brew "every" homebrew we have ever put down she also is no light weight. Now I'm not saying she is fat, oh my I'm not, although she could lose some weight, "I'm out of arms reach as I type this and when I hit...
