Kind of. the life of a beer is generally a little longer in the keg due to being cool and gassed (in most cases). ive found through my couple of kegs ive emptied, that after a month or so, my beer (just basic k&bits) are still fine in the keg.

top idea if you can get on to them for their REAL value, but i reckon the sight glass might stuff it for beer use.. unless it can handle 300kpa for 1min AKA the ross method? :)

after two months, a fermeter with a strong napisan solution and the lid (with airlock hole) smelt quite gungy and gross.. i wouldnt recommend you leave em too long.. and rinse, some new solution and overnight soon brought it back to usable again tho.

keen on an 80l keg here, can organise something to either c.coast or freight to central west nsw?

i tried the montieths at the local here, it was quite refreshing.. the barefoot, way too sweet for my liking, seemed a little overdone

i get all mine from the local recycling depot, freebies. prolly have over 500 here now.. I take em home, soak them in the tub with a strong solution of napisan for a day or so, rinse, sanitise, store.

dextrose will ferment fully to alcohol only, no taste. personally i use full malt additions, plus some dex if i think it needs an extra alcool kick. on the sample issue, i just crack the seal on the lid of the fermenter, enough for it to draw air. no need to take the lid right off, usually 1...

yep lpg is what you want. incidently, you will find that portable lpg is often (but not always) 100% propane, while auto-lpg is mostly (but again, not always!) the 60/40 mix propane / butane.. confusing huh? :)
