IMO A kk brewer is some who uses a kit plus what ever from a hbs or supermarket. This would differ from a tuocan brewer who uses 2 kits. I dont believe a can of unhopped malt extract is a kit as it has no yeast or hops, I put this forward as a "kit" on it own will produce something kind of beer...

For me its anything to do with the smells and tastes, but the most favourite is drinking it and having the boys come over them bringing a 6 pack and leaving with it again because mine tastes so much better. JCG

For what its worth I picked up a digital thermometer from an electrical store for $30 its pretty close to the stick on fermenter thermometer. JCG

Ive done this on twice not bad results but the kit does need some additions, both times it was done with 1 kilo of liquid malt and it needed something else so I dry hopped with about 20g Hersbruker. This kit does need something additional!!! Good Luck. JCG

I personally like the 1.5L Grolsh Bottles the only problem is getting more, they add a nice apeal when you do a special brew. JCG

Hi Tyred, I did this kit August last year with the chocolate malt and kit yeast and let it sit til just the other day. Will do this one again with no changes, beautiful drop. From memory I sprinkled the yeast over the wort and swirled the wort for 1 min. JCG

1st brew in 6 months: Morgans Amber Ale Kit 1 Kg Malt Extract 250g LDME 500g Dextrose Hallertauer Boilled for an hour added tblspoon hop at 3 30 min intervails. Doesn't taste to bad out of the fermenter. Went off in the fermenter overnight and am still cleaning up the mess! Cheers JCG

Go a kilo of LDME, or a liquide pale malt, as for hops I like saaz, hallertauer, cascade, and amarilo.
