wife purchased tooheys real ale for local shops as was on sale, usally brew lagers, any tips in using a larger yeast ? or adding hops, i keg mine.

Give it a go with a lager yeat, it cannot hurt. Use some hallertauer, hersbrucker or saaz hops.

Go a kilo of LDME, or a liquide pale malt, as for hops I like saaz, hallertauer, cascade, and amarilo.

I forgot to mention if useing a larger yeast keep it cool. Good luck let us know of the responses.

Throw the hops inside of your keg (dry hop) inside some sort of strainer for more oomph.
I made a Morgans Royal Oak Amber Ale once using lager yeast and liquid pale malt. It turned out OK while young. I think that would be a similar result to what people are suggesting to do here.
