Fathers day was only a few weeks ago, plenty of kids would have bought their dads a home brew kit. Give them another weeks and those dads will work out that a kit fermented @ 25C without sanititation doesn't taste too good and they'll put them on ebay. I see home rbew kits selling for $10-20 on occaison.
Failing that
go to bunnings and buy a 25L drum for $16
some starsan from craftbrewer
hand capper from a garage sale (i always see these for $5)
a stc100 from ebay and a cheap bar fridge (for keeping your fermenting brew cool) $20 + fridge
Cheap 20L pot from bigW $20 ( very handy in the brewery, i still use mine nearly every brew and i AG)
Those starter kits are around $80, you should be able to put one together for a lot less, and have better equipment.
