Top stuff. just booked a week in Koh Samui for me, the wife, and our 1yr old daughter.

The flight's gonna be interesting, but the destination, the great food, the 99Baht Coctails and the cheap as chips Singha's will be worth it!

Just thought I'd gloat... but bring it on!

I wish it was me...

Enjoy, before you get roped into your second :)

Andy

cheers,
Just found out yesterday a couple of workmates are heading over the same week.
Lucky pricks are doing the Full Moon party on Ko Phanang. I'd love to go, but not sure about doing it with a toddler!

Still it's gonna be great.

Beware the Mekong Whiskey !!!

You can sit at a table drinking it all night, talk OK, think you are OK, but when you stand up you can't walk. Cheap but deadly.

enjoy !!!

Ah yes, that stuff is cheaper than water.... for a reason too.
Will attempt to bring a bottle back.

Sounds just like Bintang in Indonesia after 8 or 9

Had a many a lost night in Samui on that whisky. The best way is to put the whole bottle in the little golf divot bucket of ice they give you, and mix in coke to taste. Real memory loss stuff, so beware.

The full moon parties are overrated. Full of ladyboys, narcs and Israeli ******s. Enjoy the trip, it's a great place.

Oh, and never, ever, ever, challenge a bar girl to a game of connect 4.

yep I only just heard of the connect 4 games recently. Apparently the bargirls study this for years, being trained high in the hilltops by Shaolin Monks, etc etc
Been to Samui twice before. I just can't get enough of the place. Not much to do there other than relax, shop for pirated stuff, relax, eat, relax, drink, relax.
I think the relax bit is up in the air with the little one, but we'll see. Yeah, the Israeli's and Germans are a source of entertainment. As we are to them.

Just got back this morning. Beautiful weather all week. Our 1 yr old daughter got annoyed with everyone wanting to hug her, haha. Seriously the Thai's love kids. She was a celebrity... all the store owners knew her name by the 2nd day, giving her free toys, girls on mopeds yelling out her name passing by. Hilarious.

Beerwise, you've gotta love a place frequented by Germans. I found some great beers in the supermarkets, and having Franziskaners on tap at Tropical Murphy's really matches the weather. Will post some pics soon.
