Hi,

Am about to use WLP830 for the first time and was wondering if anyone has had much experience with it. I plan on throwing it on top of PIlsner and Carapils with a buck load of saaz.

Any advice appreciated.

Must admit, my first winter doing AG (mini mashes) and have loved it, Used the wlp800 ann 820 yeasts to date for the pils/lagers. ... and although a lover of this beer, I must admit the cracker of a brew to date has been the oatmeal stout (done with Wyeast 1028). Thanks to all that have pointed me toward the light.

Heres to the HB community for their patience with us newbies crossing over to the bright side.

Hi JFF

I do the odd pils or two (OK, its an obsession) and have used WLP 800 & 830. I do a bohemian style pils and prefer the 830 over the 800 (maltier), but I think the best yeast for a pils is the Wyeast 2278 which I think is cleaner and maltier.

If you are doing other style pils, then 830 maybe be better for you.

Cheers
Pedro
