Where to start

Hi I am sure this has been done before but I am unsure where to start with a partial mash. I have been told that to do a partial mash instead of dextrose and use the can and yeast. But what I have read so far I am not sure that it right. I am also not to sure on what grains, equipment and process. I have been making hombrew with a can of syrup and dextrose for about 4 years now an it's time to progress further into home brew. Any advice will be grateful.

Tim, have a read of this: http://aussiehomebrewer.com/topic/70529-a-guide-to-extract-with-specialty-grain-brewing/, it describes how to move from kits to full extract brewing, with your own hop additions, etc.

A true partial mash is where you replace some of that unhopped extract with some base grain (that needs mashing), such as Joe White Traditional Ale, Bestmalz Pilsner etc.
