I think you should taste it, it is possible that it is infected (most home brew is to some extent or another), most infections are harmless or only go so far before lack of oxygen, low pH, shortage of food,CO2 poisoning, pressure... kills it or supresses it.
Especially with anything Belgian, don't be too quick to decide.
Just take care that if it is infected the bottles aren't heading toward bomb status, chill one and see if it gushes, look at the caps, if they are doming up you might be in trouble.
