10% ers if im driving !
I like beers between 3.4 - 4.5%. I enjoy them much more, and i can drink more of them!!. I dont mind going up to 5%, but my usual bitters are right on 4%. I made a summer bitter that was 3.4%, and it was great, soooo drinkable, but, it wasn't bland at all, and had good character.
My pale ales are generally 4.5% to 5% and stouts and porters a bit higher - 5.5% to 6.5%.
I would like to make a lower alcohol beer, around the 3.5% mark. My only attempt at this was an English Ordinary Bitter but it turned out a bit bland and watery. Can someone point me to an AG recipe for a low alcohol ale? Style of beer is not important - I'll drink anything. Well almost anything; not paint thinner or Tooheys Red.
Check the recipe section for an English Dark Mild. There are a couple of recipes in there, one of which I'm pretty certain is all grain.
Edit: Here they are...
