what psi level do you counter pressure bottle fill?

i was wondering what level psi people mostly use in counter pressure bottle filling? i normally use 15psi but i realized the beer can get flat too easy with that level so i was wondering what psi level everyone else uses :)
 
How does it get flat? I use a few psi above the co2 volume of the beer.
 
No idea, that's why im asking, I normally use that and its ok. I just opened a new bottle from a recent bottling session and it didn't keep carbonation which is y I'm wondering what level everyone keeps it at?
 
I haven't had much luck with it, but from videos on YouTube I have seen they say 15psi also.
 
I usually serve my beer at 80kpa, and counter pressure fill at around 110kpa
seems to work quite well and I still have good carbonation levels after a month or so
 
That what I normally use, its not always good. I will like a psi level which is good all the time. I might try 20 next time I bottle.
 
Spork- that's round 26psi don't u lose a lot of beer with that?
 
Also chill the beer down to 0, this also helps to retain the carbonation better.

Chill as cold as possible, wouldn't go much over 15 PSI head pressure, the more pressure you have the more there is to vent off which if done quickly will cause excessive foaming.
you only need to be a couple of psi above your saturation point and fill nice and slow, foam is gas coming out of solution and you don't want that. Cap as quickly as possible.

Yes chilling the bottles is also important. Basically you do not want to change the "environment" apart from, of course, the vessel. You want the temp and pressure to be as close as possible so the co2 does not come out of suspension.
First time I tried CPBFing was the last time I was allowed to do it in the kitchen, although the wife did get a newly painted ceiling.
 
awesome info i will try it next bottling session, p.s- i always wondered what psi levels do the major breweries bottle at, is it the same like home brewers round 15psi?
 
is it good to bleed the keg of all the gas before connecting it to the filler, than setting it the same has the carbonation pressure or it doesn't matter?
