Hey guys

So it turns out I unfortunately was not paying attention on ebay. I bought what looked like an STC 1000 without confirming that it actually was indeed one. I have ended up with a device that looks extremely similar. Has anyone else wound up with or used one of these?

The wiring looks to be slightly different too. Can anyone confirm for me whether it is the same sort of wiring, just with a slightly different layout (in terms of order).

Cheers

Looks like it only has one output for heating or cooling. Got a link to the ebay seller?

Meh - they suck balls.

I did the same thing about a year ago. I finally wired it up the other day/week for my third fermenter, but the whole 1deg thing is pretty crap - it needs to drop a whole degree before it will turn on.

I've got a "proper" one en-route to replace the unit in the current box... probably 2-3 weeks out.

I'll keep the crap one - but as a backup only. But then mine was ~$14 as well, so no big loss.

Yep they suck. I got one of those too thinking i only needed it to control the heating element in my mash, but it was crap because of the one degree thing too. I was putting up with it while i was running a brew for the first and then it let the magic smoke out. THE END.

Dont feel bad eMPTy they fooled me too.

They would be a cheap alternative to turn a freezer into a keezer.

I have bought one as well :-( will be used in a keezer so should be ok though
