vancouver breweries

Hey guys. im currently in Thailand on holidays throwing down a couple of Chang beers . I will be on my way to canada in a couple of weeks. Im looking at staying in Vancouver for a while and maybe to Portland Oregon. Anyone got and tips on breweries I should see? cheers.

Portland is arguably the craftbeer capital of the world. nuff said.

You shouldn't have any trouble in Vancouver either, check this article.

Just avoid downtown eastside (skid row, or the slum of North America). Especially around main st & Hastings. Unless crack & crack whores are your thing.

edit: second the hastings and main warning. very gnarly area. be careful as its just off the tourist strip. I wandered through and just got out. Especially if you are full of beer and bad manners. But that is true of anywhere in Vancouver.
