Gday,
Bought 2 jars (550g) of molasses...wanting to try it with a coopers lager kit and a 1kg packet of BE2....would molasses suit a lager beer and if so how much would i need in a 21-23 litres brew? would it change the taste much or make it stronger(alc%)? and would it be correct that if i was to add 500grams of malt (liquid or powder) to a batch that it would make the alcoholic % bigger?

I think it'd taste much better in the Cooper's Dark. It would be weird in a Lager.

molasses are quite strong in flavour they can be overpowering even in a stout I would only use 200g maximum.

Don't reckon using them in a lager sounds nasty spoil the delicate flavours.
