People actually buy SS fermenters and use gladwrap for the lid, totally amazing. That SS fermenters are used because they are oxygen impermeable seems fanciful, why would you need to keep oxygen out?.
I guess these guys couldn't get big enough rolls of glad wrap:

come back to ahb after 12 months or so chasing other interests and am reminded why i dont bother anymore. glad wrap is evil letting in oxygen and nasty bugs. better tell the pros out there that use open ferment verssels that theyre beer is infected **** eh. and barrel aging must really ruin beer with its oxygen permeability to i guess. oh well im off to find the no chill will kill you with botulism thread and biab makes second rate beer because the pros dont do it that way thread and i wont have to visit the site for another 12 months.

A bit of courtesy is good from both sides - simply repeating the same point you've made countless times prior, without acknowledging or responding to pertinent points made by others is discourteous. I know exactly what Greg is talking about and why oxygen is the enemy of beer. I am not a moron who chucks his wort in a bucket and hopes for the best and neither are many other brewers here.

Greg has a lot to contribute but on this particular issue (which is far from the topic raised by the OP) he is frustratingly dogmatic.

Being discourteous to morons is a bit rough.
