Universal Poppet vs Manufacturer Poppet

Hi All,

New to this site so please forgive any ignorance.

I have searched but can't seem to find if there is a difference between using universal style poppets or using the correct manufacturer's style poppets when reconditioning corny/firestone kegs.

Does anyone have any opinion on which is the better way to go?

There is a fair cost difference so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Tony,

Welcome to the site.
If your poppets are in good nick just replace the the little seal with these http://www.craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=855
I bought some spare poppets when I first got my kegs but just replacing the seals has always worked for me so I can't tell you more than that. The seals above wont fit universal poppets though if you decide to go down that road. :beer:
