Due to a lingering back injury I can not brew at all.

Thing really started to slow down around November last year.

I seemed to get better, made one brew just before xmas and that is still in secondary, then my injury flared up again much worse than before.

I am still in therapy and do not know when I will be better.

This was the scene in the beer fridge on Australia Day a few days ago.
My last 2 bottles of wheat beer.

I have had to purchase alcohol and I'm not happy about it.

This is pissing me off no end.

Hope evryone has a few beers for me. :beerbang:

My deepest and most hearfelt condolences, johnno. My beer fridge is in a similar position, but at least I have the luxury of being able to brew.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo

Isnt that beer on top of the yeast starters :p

Isn't there a Mrs Johhno to do the lifting?

Or surely some local AHBers to give a hand...

PM me your addy Johnno , I owe you a couple.

Johnno sent me a couple of beers when I could not brew due to moving states , come on fellow AHBers lets all stock up his fridge !! :super: :super:

Hope your up and about again soon mate , bad backs suck !

Johhno,
Try and keep your brewery at waist height only. Helps with all the bending and lifting. Pumping beer to kegs is also a good option.

cheers

jonno,

I sympathise with you  .
I know only too well the dreaded feeling that envelopes you. I am down to my last 30 odd tallies & for various (including health) reasons, am unable to get a taste of my next brew for at least 8 weeks. Sooner, rather than later, I am going to be forced to (shudder) enter a bottle department to get a few slabs to see me through this depressing time. Hope all turns out ok for you & that you will be back brewing again sooner than you expect. :)

Jye,

Never thought of getting into the yeast starters. good idea? :p

As said above. If your woman really loves you man, She wouldn't hesitate to give you a hand. Otherwise, use your brother/s, sister/s, anyone - grand father.... Make yourself some kids (hell it's fun practising anyway), at least then in a few years time, you can use your son/daughter as slave labour to brew for you

Cheers :)

bummer mate,
nothing worse than trying to put socks on with a f*&^ed back let alone lifting bags of malt
good luck

Pity about the big distances in this country. I brew it faster than I can drink it. I am about to pour out 40 l. Nothing particularly bad, just not up to my expectations, cant be assed drinking it, need the kegs. As I brew another 40 l tomorrow I will be careful how I pick stuff up, dont want to end up in the same situation.

Arrange a brew day then sit back have a couple and enjoy. I am sure you will find plenty of helpers.
Good luck.

Richard
Guest i'll find a home for that 40l if its going down the sink. all my kegs are empty.

Id send you some of mine but it will proably make you more ill.

Gimie a year to get my standards up :D

johnno,

Start advertising that you're holding 'hands on' mash demos at your place.....and you're supplying all necessaries and keeping them

If you were to throw in a BBQ, you might get a few Melb, brewers making one for you.
