The Brauduino (Matho’s Controller) Buy thread

anyone interested in buying one of these that is completed and working?

I made one last year some time, complete with display board, bonjuino/arduino, SSR, heatsink, cabling, sensor/cable, pump/cable disconnects, adhesive front cover (If it is still in my box), the whole bit.

I used it a couple of times, it was excellent, however I just don't brew anywhere near that much anymore (life changed a bit, now every minute is taken up with triathlon training)

Time to sell it, anyone care to offer something over $100 for it?

170x140 by around 100. I'm receiving the prototypes of the fully cut out boxes this coming week! (I think also the drilled and tapped heatsinks) I'll post pics when they arrive.

I've received great reports back from people testing the PCBs I got, so am looking to order the prototypes for the production run next week.

I also received some custom stainless pre-formed (circular with terminals bent to go through bottom of the pot) heating elements today - just running a water test on one now - looking and working just brilliantly so far - 45mm total height from the base of the pot (These are not a part of the kit. If you are interested, PM me).

Are those kettle or HEX elements? Sounds like kettle but just making sure.

Kettle elements - circular like in my build, but stainless and pre-formed with a low total height, 2400w. - I'll take a photo tomorrow when there is light and post it here.

Sorry for the delay - here are the pics of the stainless elements. Just running a second wet test with it now, with lid off this time. We will see how long it takes to bring 25L to mash in temps from 20C and then ramp from there (would be covered normally when mashing, but interesting to see ramp times).

In the pot - you can see it is out of place because I didn't actually get the element made to suit my pot... it just happened to be the right size.

If so what are you going to connect it with as I just got my heating element yesterday and looking around trying to find a
2 pin socket for it .

Hi fortmonty,

The element is same as most heating elements - it has one terminal at each end - you connect active to one and neutral to the other. DO NOT USE A 2 PIN SOCKET. That would not be earthed. And that will likely kill you if something goes wrong. Make sure that the earth socket/wire is earthed to something that will ensure the current flows through to the earth if the element fails.

If you are going to wire it yourself, please make sure you get it certified by an electrician, or get it wired by an electrician in the first place. It's not worth dying for beer. Seriously. It's not.
