I think most of the time they were actually using them while brewing, rather than fermenting. Granted I'd expect any leaching etc to be worse in a hot scenario, but then again, the fermenter probe is immersed for weeks, not hours

Ah yes, I think you might be right, sorry Stux. Looks like it might just be verysupple then!

I'm happy with mine just stuck on the outside of the FV...I tried it for a few brews in a separate 2l container of water in my brewfridge, didn't seem to make much difference....so back to the sticky tape and bubble wrap.
