Pumpy,

As one who's been thru it, come along for the study course and make your mind up about the test when the time approaches. There's enough numbers to get the exam ratified by the BJCP even if 2-3 don't do the exam

Bump.

Looks like there are enough to make a go of it, Trev. City's fine for me. How are the chances of getting this boardroom for our meetings looking? :D

Here's the list of possibles

Folks,

I've had a setback with the venue. I need to get the lawyer on side because of the insurance angle - not so much because of the alcohol, but because of the social and unrelated nature of the activity.

I'll be back in a couple of days with the answer.

If that meeting room isn't available theres a community centre in Randwick/Queens Park that I can enquire about.

No booze allowed at the Randwick Literary Institute :( which is where the rooms for hire were) but I did find where I'll be taking Karate Classes!

Just in case some of you haven't jumped on the BN bandwagon..download THIS and have a listen. They discuss how the each of them go thru the tasting process whilst judging a beer for comp. A bit long at around the 3 hour mark, but when they do get to it I found it fairly informative...and not really suited to the 'dial-up' bunch

Trev,

any word from the lawyers?

A workmate recently did a wine appreciation course at a randwick girls school. perhaps it was a community college type thing. can find out more details if needed. otherwise we could hang out in moore park. just bring a brown paper bag. lol :)

Everybody,

Good News - we have the venue. It's in the City at the northern end of Kent St.

What I'd like to do is have our first session within the next couple of weeks or so.

We need to decide:
what night? - I'd prefer Tuesday, but we can move it around if needed
what time? - say 6:00pm
how often - once a month, but a couple of closer ones at the start and towards the end.
who's serious. - well I am.

Trev

Trev, I am in Sydney b/n 20th April - 6th May. If you have a meeting during that time, would you mind if I tag along?

Berp.
