Ive drank stone and wood pacific ale many of times and think its a nice beer, but i bought a six pack last night and found it to be a bit watery and very over carbonated to the point it felt like i had put my tounge on a battery its never happened before i was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if it was a one off.

Where did you buy it from mate?

If its from Dan Murphys, or someone who treats their beer as bad as they do, I am not surprised.

Sounds like a storage/ transport issue.

I'm sure if you put your contact details up here, Ross or one of the boys will happily replace it.

YES I did had brought it from Dans and it was a month out of date plus I think they didn't handle and store it well. It tasted like Soda water and I took it back. Check the Use by date on the bottle. Also mine was still called Draught Ale as they hadnt changed the name to pacific Ale yet.

High cabonation is definately normal for this beer. Havent found it to have a weak taste though

yes it was from dans and i would have taken it back but i live about an hr and a half drive from where i purchased it. im going to ring the brewery and let them no just so they are aware and they might be able to put steps in place so it dosent happen to often.

i bought it once from Dans... Never again.. only buy it on tap now...

although I havent tried it from the bottle directly from the source...

This happened to me once, turns out I was drinking the shitty lager instead of the pacific ale!!!

The Draught ale hasn't been made by S&W for over 12 months and yes, some of that last batch before it changed to 'Pacific Ale' was over carbed and the Boys at S&W are aware of it.
So the bottle you had would have been sitting at Dans for well over a year, exposed to god only knows what temperature and storage conditions. So if it tasted like fizzy spunk, that'll be why.

If you still have an unopened Bottle, let me know and I'll see if Brad is still keen to get a sample of it.

Cheers,

BF

I took the whole carton back and got a refund.
I phoned Stone and Wood and spoke to them about it and they were going to get their rep to speak to the Dans store in question. Although I was there the other day and the same old shitty out of date draught Ale and lager is still there.
I mentioned in another thread that I told the chick at the register it was all out of date and her reply was "You will have to speak to the manager if you want to get a discount on out of date stock"

I said No thanks and walked out.

What Dans was this?

I got a pint of a British ale from the local Dan Murphys, half way through drinking if (and loving it) I saw on the bottle that it was more than a year past the best before date.

It was really good though!

well after discovering this i thought i would bring it to stone and woods attetion, because if this was the first time i had drank this beer i would not buy it again, so i rang them and explained to them the same thing i wrote that it was a very nice beer drank it many of times with no problems but these few just were not right they thanked me for my feed back took my details just incase they need to speak to me again about this and said they will be contacting the supplier on which i bought the beer. now two weeks have passed and on my way out the door to go to work yesterday afternoon and a van pulls up a man gets out walks around the back pulls out a carton of stone and wood pacific ale and gives it to me i was shocked he said it was from stone and wood. so for me bringing this to there attention they sent me a carton of beer now thats what i call exceptional customer service, you could say that made my day considering you cant buy it here the closest place is an hr and a half drive from here. just thought i would share my experience with you all as im still smiling and did not expect anything at all it goes to show you some people still care about what the consumer has to say well done stone and wood im stoked
