Can anyone confirm that the taps off Coopers Brew Kits fermenters come apart for cleaning? I've been banging down mine with a wooden spoon and it's not budging.
It will come apart, check to see if the tap is in the open position when you're attempting to dismantle. Sometimes it needs a bit of force.

I use that solid plastic tube that you use for bottling beers to knock the taps apart.

Another tip : turn tap half open half closed i.e. 90 degs couple of good whacks to get it started then it is fairly easy to get apart. Maybe a drop of washing up liquid as a lubricant may help to get it started.

Can confirm turning the tap 90 degrees makes it easier to knock apart and put back together. Not sure why (the surface looks identical at this point, but it does work).

I'm currently trying one of the "snap" taps available, they unscrew, so no damage to the tap occurs.

Ben

How do you connect hose to it for transfer?

Also how do the internal workings work? Are they spring loaded?

Cheers

I boil my taps and airlocks and lids from time to time.
I also find I melt them to the bottom of saucepans from time to time, necessitating the purchase of new ones. :(
