I think you should just say thank you... Sounds like a nice person to me! Maybe a bunch of flowers would be simple but perfect. I know Im going to get slautered as I usually leaves these threads alone.

I want a chest freezer!

To express your undying love and appreciation, get her wasted on homebrew!

heh - don't want to push my luck! ....I'll wait at least a day before doing that....

Katie has a point - small gifts often for the minister of finance certainly helps!
But a house (in lieu of renting) is high on our priority list at the mo.
Slightly off topic - then again with the financial markets world wide changing/plummetting, may have to wait longer for house...
Back on topic - however with the markets as such, it would be silly not to invest in more HB equipment so we can make more beer ourselves, overcoming any financial crisis... Solution!
Cheers.

Come to think of it I have not had flowers in some time... mmmm

And Im the one that huts for all our beer gear etc and info...

Hit her up for 4 Celli's while your on a roll!

Ive got 1, the others = Celli Tap $100 = $25 a week pocket money x 4 weeks.. As I said, its a slow process..

1. Never thought of the small gifts one, that could work? However, she did get a $500 bracelet for her birthday last year, I only get $100 for my birthday...
2. Keep renting, less stress and way less overheads..
3. As above.
4. I keep showing my partner how much 2nd hand systems keep selling for on Ebay as back-up to my purchase, HBing equipment is a great investment, more and more people are taking it up and the demand will become stronger for gear. So if you ever need to sell, your loss should be minimal.. Plus there will always be a wood-duck out there that doesnt do there research on how much stuff costs and they will end up paying more for your gear than you did originally. (not that you will sell it anyhow)

I wish my partner was like you, or we had the same interests..

its all about making it useful for them. once I proved that gettig rid of the masses of bottles and free up heaps of storage space for her to use i was halfway there. I then threwin the part about reduced time spent bottling and it meant I could do more house work (yeah that part was a lie), we got the ok to get the freezer.

Yup Katie has a point. do something nice for her to say thanks. maybe brew her a beer, or name a brew after her . seriously something small goes a long way.

Be careful you dont end up dis-membered in the freezer, maybe she is looking for a way out.

 Hilarious!

She's a good chick, I have to admit. It's good when she supports my hobbies - I just wasn't expecting this one. Maybe I'll buy her that bar with the 6 taps after all...

Once upon a time I had a boyfriend whom played war games (I used to call it playing with dolls)...

Anyhow he could easily sneak buying them as there tiny....

You really cant hide a chest freezer... LOL!

I guess Im lucky to have a partner with the same interests. Though he started it he brought me a home brew kit for my birthday. I dont think he had met a girl who liked beer so much. I remember the first drink he brought me he didnt know weather to buy me a middy or a pint. He took the risk and brought me a pint. Told me the situation and I said "Hey I have already had two"....

I must be one of the lucky ones, my better half cant wait till i have the keg setup up and going.

Just got to wait till we move into the new place end of jan. next year to set it up. no point getting all the gear together now when we know we are moving in a few months and will have to kart it all 400km.

4 kegs has already been approved, but she wants a keg of bundy for herself. she even wants nice looking taps! she works in hospitality, and as such has spent a lot of time behind a bar, so she knows whats good and whats not :p

Im suprised no one else has said this yet...

Crunched, im sorry mate. Shes pregnant!

All things aside thats great news man! Im glad my partner is supportive of my hobbies and enjoys taste testing with me and doing other beer related things. (glad she loves beer and is a foodie!)

Shes a keeper Crunched! Enjoy the keg fridge, mine just got turned on lastnight. 1st pour will be at 6PM sharp!

CHEERS!!!

She got to buy something... :p

+1
Last year we went out looking for a laptop and did the tour of WOW sight n sound, Harvey Norman etc and I wandered over to the Plasmas and LCDs - I know a fair bit about these technologies but replacing the old tv was not a huge priority.

Salesman drifted over, I asked him some curly ones about 1080p, etc, etc but by that time the Mrs was captivated by a particular 42 inch LCD and started haggling with the salesman quite out of the blue.

Ten minutes later after a big discount and chucking in a free HD set top box they were taking our address details for delivery and like the OP I wandered out of the store thinking "what the hell just happened  "

Great TV, I wonder if I should take the Mrs out and just happen upon a blu ray player .....

Ps she bought the laptop as well, typing on it now :D

fellas fellas fellas...... welcome to the "Gareth K theory"

if your looking to buy something just buy it then tell her once you have it ......... because,

1. If she doesnt want you to have it your going to argue about it anyway, you probably wont get it in the end.

2. If you just buy it you'll have an argument but you'll have the goods!!!!

3. Woman are not human and dont like fun in anyway (other than ruining it)...
