Hi all,
Just getting into kegging and looking at starting with an SS cylinder for versatility and working my way up from there.
I know that most big chain supermarkets have the 40L cylinders but I had a look on the SS homepage and they also have 100L cylinders available online that they say are only compatible with certain models of their drinksmakers.
Does anyone have any experience with both size cylinders? Do they both use the same size/shape attachment?
IE will they both fit the same regulator adaptor?

Cheers!

Hi Hefty

I have a 100 litre one which has the same thread as the smaller ones. The 100 litre bottles have been "out of stock" since december. Soda Streams' answer is to use the 40 litre ones that came with your Soda Stream machine. You cannot even exchange them - retail stores don't have them, Soda Stream can't do it over the phone or the web at the moment, all they can tell me is they will have them on the web site "soon".

Cheers
Pedro

Cheers Pedro,
Yeah I saw the "in stock soon" message on their website. I wonder how long "soon" is.
More than twice the volume for less than twice the price. I hope it IS soon.

Didn't wanna make a new thread for this.
How do SS bottles shut? Do they have a valve tap/handle? I've done google image searches of all sorts of combinations of words and I cannot get a close enough picture of one to see how they work.
I got my regulator the other day and I'll be picking up and adapter from CB and then getting one from my local woolies, which has full refills in stock, but I want to know what it looks like/how it works?
Could someone who's got one take a photo of their set up (specifically of the where the adaptor attaches to the cylinder) and post it?

Cheers!

This Link has some good info and some very specific links on SS valve setups :)

Bunnings have a bottle that is a bit bigger than the standard ss. Seen them behind the counter. Don't know what fitting it has.
