I'm chasing some Silicone O-rings for K-Mart kettle elements.

Food grade of course,

Can anyone help with a supplier?

I'm on the GC.

Cheers

I can make them if no-one else can help. I need OD, ID and thickness. At the moment I only have materials to make 40 durometer elastomer.

Sorry I just noticed you said O-rings not washers. I can do O-rings but they aren't as good as commercial ones as I 3D print the moulds so they don't have a perfectly smooth sealing surface. I need ID and thickness.

I would imagine buying another kmart kettle for $7.50 would be cheaper than buying an o ring

BigW have put theirs up to $9! The depravity!

a lot easier to install than the Kettle elements and they still have a pretty small footprint. I didn't have to over tighten any thing to get it water tight.
FWIW, I installed a kettle element into a BigW stock-pot and had to file down the threaded posts on the back of the element to get it to seal properly. Took off around 4-5mm, from memory.

Still, not having to dick around with disassembling a jug / drilling & reaming the plastic backing assembly / filing down posts / trimming crimp lugs would be worth the <$10 difference in price -- what size hole does that element need?

I got there in the end. Two kettle elements, one sealed first go no worries, the 2nd one gave me nothing but trouble.

In the end, I shortened the thread bosses on the element so I could gain more clamping power.

So a result.

No, I use a two part silicone designed for moulding. The one I'm using at the moment came from Dalchem, I've also used Dow product in the past.
