Thats so sad, mabee you can get a prosthetic so you can
Moderate plaque psoriasis
this is an autoimmune syndrome so I also get:
Cures: psoriasis does great with sunbaking and swimming in the sea so, therefore, gets worse in the winter.
I got my first bad case of psoriasis 9 months ago. I appeared on my foot between my big toe and the next toe. The GP's thought it was tinea and I have been using creams and even a course of tablets for 5 weeks that I couldnt drink beer while taking because the tabs are so hard on the liver that any boose would over stress the liver and cause a liver failure. I eventually went to another gp who wanted to prescribe me another brand of tablets, but when I refused and demanded a referral to a specialist he got quite aggressive. So I saw a dermatologist a couple of weeks ago who said it was psoriasis!
I got a script for a cream consisting of 6% LPC (which is tar and slows the growth of the skin cells), 2% salicylic acid (which causes the skin to peel), all in a sorbolene cram base.
I have used this before and has worked great but didnt have a sorbolene base and was just tar with 2% acid, and it stunk much much worse, but it did work. So 2 weeks in and its heaps better, another 2 weeks and it should be gone.
Also got some 'Desowen' which is a strong topical steroid that also works great especially on the face as it doesnt smell and is not light sensitive.
My mum had plaques all over her body. Se has been undergoing Ultra Violet therapy where she goes to a hospital every day and stands in a room with special lights for 1 minute. The specific wavelength of light helps. It has helped her heaps. But it is only available in capital cities due to the cost of the setup and it needing to be overseen by a dermatologist. It does carry higher chance of skin cancer though.
I've also had 100% sucess on my scalp by shaving it with a razor blade twice a week at first then once a week, then once a month. Or when I do have hair, having a shower at night, then leave the hair quite wet and rub in heaps of moisturiser like sorbolene and leaving in overnight. Makes you look like norman gungstan while its in, but it works pretty well after a couple days. Thats one that I figured out myself, and have since seen reference on proper sites to moisturiser content being attributed to 'so called miracle cures' marketed on the internet.
Its a very common condition 1 - 2% and is genetic - past down from parents. It has been described to me as where the skin grows about 3 times faster than it should. But it does seem to be an alergy, but it is not yet known to what, so normal desensitisation injections used to treat most alergies havent worked as yet. Scratching or skin abrasians can be a starting cause though. Mine on my foot appeared soon after walking along the beach after putting on socks and shoes while my feet were still wet and the inside of my toes were covered in sand - the sand abraised the skin between the toes. Being awake for 36 hours and having consumed 36 stubbies had nothing to do with it.

I have been planning a little survey of psoriasis suffers to try to learn more about what causes it. I have some theories. Its a little ways off, but pm me if you can take part.
