Hi all, just looking for an AG recipe, something between a Coopers Pale Ale and a Little Creatures Pale Ale

Single batch..

cheers

Because the CPA is yeast-driven, and the LCPA is hop-driven, I'd use a LCPA wort and reculture 3 longnecks of CPA yeast in a 2L starter and use that.

I've recently been drinking - and enjoying immensely - a hybrid type thing I put together. It is either an aussie ale with some victory malt (and brewed with wy1272) or it is a basic APA but with plenty of POR character; mashed at 66c so as to finish closer to 1.011 (not too dry), bittered and some flavour addition with POR (incl FWH) and just hit with 20gms cascade at flameout.

If you want something between the two then work out which qualities you want from what. I'm a big fan of the Coopers recultured yeast, but I didn't like it as much in beers with late hops in them (I particularly didn't like it with the c hops - just my taste of course).

A cross between the two more sounds like a LCPA but dialled down/more subdued in my books... Is that what you want or do you want the coopers yeast character to be the star? Bothe recipe threads have heaps of info, I'm sure you'll find something in them...

Good luck!

edit: I should qualify, that I tended to use the recultured coopers yeast at slightly higher temps as I tend to make it the star of the show when I am using it, maybe fermenting with it at lower temps might provide a nicer mix with some of the bigger American hops?
