I reuse the others a lot too. In an opaque plastic container my iodophor stays light brown for months... the other two im not so sure of, the bubbles stay in starsan for ages (Ever?) but is that an indication that the santising agent is still active?
As long as you don't get the star san solution dirty (particularly water/beer/wort residue), it will stay effective for months. I usually remix my pail of star san about every 6-8 months. By that time it's usually quite full of lint and other crap. If you have pH test strips or a pH meter, as long as the solution is below pH 3 (or is it 2?), it's okay. Can't remember the exact number.....I think it's something like pH 2.3. Does anyone know the exact number?
Another thing about star san. My retailer told me to mix it with reverse osmosis water as the minerals in ordinary tap water will quickly raise the pH and render it ineffective. Don't know if this is true, but I've always used RO water for mixing my star san solutions without any issues.
