Hi,

looking to put down a refreshing easy drinking summer ale. I have 25gs of galaxy and amarillo, some BE2 and also the brewcraft equivalent and access to a Big W to grab a coopers tin.

Any suggestions? Was thinking
- Coopers APA
- Brewcraft brew booster
- 15gs amarillo, 15gs galaxy @15
- 10gs amarillo, 10gs galaxy @flameout

Sounds great. I'll have one right now, if that's ok?

I've been using a tin of light LME and a tin of wheat LME as a base, and been experimenting with hops. It's a bit too sweet, so have been bittering up with nelson sauvin and some EKG. But the lighter, cleaner approach sounds great.

To get more from those hops I would use the like this:

  • Amarillo 10g @ 15mins
  • Amarillo 15g @ 5mins
  • Galaxy 25g @ Dry Hop ( when primary fermentation is about 2-3points from FG, throw them into the beer, leave them for 5-7days and cold crash to 4c before packaging )
This way you get Galaxy aroma and then the flavour from the Amarillo.

What yeast are you planning to use?

thanks - i was just going to use the kit yeast, but i could put in a saf05 i guess?

So5 would be a better choice.

What temp will you ferment at?

18C will be great, after 5days at 18c let that raise up to 21c to ferment out and add the dry hops.

also, would an addition of some wheat improve things?
If you replace the Brewcraft Brew Booster with a can of Wheat Extract it would better.
