Brewer's Notes
Makes an easy drinking pretty light-bodied Schwarzbier, very different to some of my earlier attempts. Colour is spot on, I didn't have Munich II so used Munich I.
Bitter with Perle or Green Bullet for a less bland bitterness. I experimented with adding the Carafa just before sparge, and it definitely made the beer less roasty, but I think if you do this you might need to increase the amount to compensate.
For those who prefer something more like Köstritzer Schwarz, I recommend adding some Caramunich to the grain bill, as that beer is sweeter.
