Alimenter le Spécial de Rue

Ale - Belgian Pale Ale
All Grain

Brewer's Notes

Yeast is WYeast 3538 Leuven Pale Ale not listed on d/base. No chill. Aroma hops were added to a hopback then hot wort was run to cubes. 8 Plugs in total. Yeast is a great attenuator even with 6% Caramunich. Database says 9 EBC. Promash says 17 EBC which seems closer to the truth. Finish is almost bone dry and perfect for summer. Hopping is 27 IBUs according to ProMash but only 23 according to this d/base. To my tastes it seems about 10 IBU higher (probably due to hefty perceived attenuation). Great orange rind marmalade, stone fruit and light vanilla nose probably due to Styrians. Really love this yeast. Shame Wyeast doesn't release it anymore.
