This relates to Munton's Gold Ale Yeast but maybe relevant...

I used the Munton's Gold for my very first Brew (IPA - turn out great) and i was making an Imperial Stout after that.

I bottled the IPA then dumped the Imperial Stout Wort straight on top of the IPA Trub threw in boiled cooled 100g of dex and it went like the clappers.

Hello All,

How long does the reused yeast keep in the fridge?

Cheers

I've used bottled trub successfully after >3 months in the fridge. When the last bottle has been filled with beer I swirl the fermenter a few times and then fill a sanitized 600ml PET bottle with the slime that comes out the tap. Keeps in the back of the fridge with the date and the yeast strain written on it.

When you need to use it you also get a very, very cold conditioned glass of lightly carbonated beer - which also will tell you if the yeast is okay to use.

I pour off the beer on top, cap it again and let it rise up to the wort temperature (or close). Give it a quick shake and pour it in. In a 600ml bottle of bottled trub there's usually about 150 ml of trub.
