I used to prime the whole batch with malt, keg and bottle the left overs. I now use CO2 for the keg and prime the leftovers separately as I feel the beer tastes better off the gas. It is perhaps because I am impatient (& thirsty) and can never leave it long enough to condition after the priming fermentation is finished. I have seen posts here by people that swear you cant tell the difference if you can bear to stare at a full keg for a month or so.
