Be overkill for a 50l pot as a stirrer?

Went to bunnings to look for a decent paint stirrer, but it was either a plastic dodgy looking thing or a powder coated steel one... Not keen on putting powder coated crap in my beer.

The alterntive as well is the "short" 700ml

Been using the dodgy plastic one for some time now,does a great job and easy to clean.

I bought one of the pizza peels you linked earlier have not had a go with it yet still have a month before i am home but plan to put a brew down quickly after that... Will let you know how it looks when i do.

+1 for paint stirrer, works great. but if you get one go for the one where the stirring head is stuck on unlike mine which you can fold flat. when the plastic heats up i find it falls off occasionally.

i got a chrome paint stirer from bunnings for about 12 bucks, well technically an adhesive mixer - exactly the same as a paint stirrer but located in the flooring tools section (near tile cutters and the grout etc). it hasn't rusted yet, but i am sure it will eventually. i reckon it is great, just thrust it straight up and down and because of the spiral shape it mixes the mash up nicely, i am BIAB though so have a very thin mash. It has a secondary use for me also as I use it to get the whirpool up before cubing.

I bought one the plastic one from bunnings and have had no trouble with it at all, easy too use and clean and works well
