Hi Guys,

I'm sure this has been asked a million time and therefore I apologise in advance if i offend anyone.

I'm having difficulty carbonating my keg, I've brewed a lager style beer but all I keep getting is flat beer. I've tried leaving it for sevaral days and also by force carbonating it but he results are the same.

Could someone please point me in the right direction as I'm sure I must be doing something fundamentally wrong.

I've tried searching through the forum but can only find long winded threads discussing various methouds. What I'm seeking is a guide. If anyone can help I'll be greratly appreatiative.

there's no guide. Read the long winded threads - they're there for a reason.

No one can answer your questions unless you give some info. volume, pressure, time, temp, etc. ???

hi we need more information please, temp, pressure, etc...

but for me, 2 Deg, 80 KPA around 10 days.

as others have said we need more info,what do you consider as "flat"?if you pour a clear water type bottle of beer, cap and shake the crap out of it do you get any bubbles/pressure in the bottle[foaming/head]can you get a glass of head by partialy pouring a glass from a slightly opened tap,if yes to both I think your beer line might be too long,my method of carbing is
1-attatch gas to beer out
2 turn on gas,turn reg to 400kpa turn off gas at valve,shake/rattle & roll till gauge drops to min[bout 50 count]gas on,remove gas line leave at 400 for 1 hour release pressure through press relief valve conect back up @ serv pressure,this is done @ 1*c works for me
 
if you have the pressure at serving pressure (50-100kpa), a few days won't be enough.
 
the way i do it is:

1. brew beer
2. rack into keg
3. turn gas on to expel any oxygen in keg, burp (pull release valve on keg 3-4 times
4. turn gas off
5. chill down 2.C for 24 hours (this is done because warm beer will not absorb carbon dioxide...
6. turn gas on at 280kpa approx for 48 hours
7. after 2 days, turn gas down to serving pressure, mine is about 80kpa, my mate uses 50.....
8. Burp keg to release pressure (youve had it at 280 remember)
9. pull off about half a pint or so of head while the tap cools down,

Pour and enjoy

Ive only just gotten into kegging, have done 4 kegs this way and no problems at all :)
