Another new equipment find on the interwebs...

Recently released stainless fermentor. $US175 + shipping from California.

http://www.ssbrewtech.com/products/brewbucket

Seems like good value:
  • 6.9 US gallons (=26.3L)
  • SS lid with blow-off/airlock hole
  • silicon sealed lid with SS clips on vessel
  • SS legs
  • SS ball valve, hose barb and rotating racking arm
  • conical base (with no bottom port)
  • stackable

The design intention of the cone is to concentrate yeast trub so it exposes a smaller footprint to the beer.
Cone looks less than 60 degrees. Might be hackable for installing a dump valve.

(Attention Aus HBS's: On ya bikes!. Get some into OZ to check out before brewers start importing directly)

The kegs look sexy as well and only $100.00 not bad for new.

How much do they weigh? Shipping would be a total bitch unless you wanted to import an entire container worth.

I have to say that is a very nice looking FV. They are already sold out though.

The web site says new stock ariving this time next week.

The vendor is a new startup. Its just their initial stock was sold out (pretty quickly I guess).

The shipping page also says they do not yet ship 'international' but, "we will be evaluating our customers’ needs based on their feedback and we’ll react and respond from there. If you are based outside of the US or Canada and you are interested in buying our products, then kindly drop us a line at [email protected]mailto:[email protected] and let us know".

Tell that to the blokes fermenting in 20L plastic jerry cans.

EDIT. Added volume

Personally, I'd spend an extra couple of hundred and get the chronical.

I expect a "chronicle" fermenter to keep accurate records or have super powers

Taking a closer look at them and whether it's viable to bring them in at the right price.

Good move HBHB. Be interested to hear what you think of it, especially how it compares with the 25L stainless Mangrove Jack fermentor you already offer, which looks like a good tidy unit.

(and just going OT for a moment, do you think you could put a few more pics of the MJ fermentor up on your web site, incl a long shot? The pic you have of the inside appears to show markings where legs are attached on the outside. But there is no pic provided showing the entire thing. Cheers.)

Will be watching this thread with interest. Looks like a really good and relatively cheap option for those of us who would like a conical but can't justify the cost of one.

Um who doesn't. More stainless yeah!

bump - I know this was mentioned in the blichmann thread but looks like we might be getting these in Australia soon?!

$249 is pretty damn good value, I really like how everything on the unit is silicone or stainless.
