Yep they just aren't interested in mail anymore, can't blame them they are losing money hand over fist in the letter dept.
Then you have those reusing the stamps which doesn't help.

AP - We'll keep jacking up the price till we make a profit!
A bit like "sackings will continue until morale improves!" :p

Maybe if they didn't pay there CEO 20 Bazillion dollars a year (slightly exaggerated figure) and looked at their business as a whole ie parcels are making them a **** load of money they wouldn't feel the need to put up the prices I've ranted on this subject before on here quite a while ago and it still ***** me to tears. The ACCC who approved the rise must be the most ineffectual load of mealy mouthed hand wringers on the planet, when have they ever found in the favour of the consumer ever. FARK.

Well, it is in favour of the consumer even at $1.00 a stamp they are still going to lose money, the mail losses was a staggering $381 million, CEO gets $4.8 million, small potatoes as far as CEO's goes, yes we have been here before and we probably will again, they are going to have to charge a lot more to make it worthwhile to keep mail deliveries running, and with a profit, or at least breaking even, they are making enough on their parcels.

wonder if deregulation would fire them up..their service is terrible, letters go missing or get damaged.as stated before sack the High Up's in the company

Doesn't the US postmaster general only make about half a million US a year? How is $4.8mill justified for our CEO? Auspost made a $116 million profit last year. Do they have to make a profit or does their charter say they have to provide an important service to all Australians?
I don't get it at all.

Provide an effective and efficient service I reckon

Not everything is money grubbing exercise

My thoughts

Cheers

Spot on DU99 Aus Post made a loss of $220 M last year dragged down by mail delivery, Malcolm Turnbull was talking about deregulating Aus Post when he was communications minister, the biggest user of Aus Post is the government and business, take them from the equation and Aus Post are ******.

I cant remember the last time I sent an actual letter.. bit of a point there..

I do send a **** load of parcels and the odd registered letter though but they are a bit different to the old snail mail sort of thing innit...
