Neoprene v. Rubber washers

I just installed a new thermometer (keg king) into by brew pot. When I filled the pot I couldn't stop the leak. I replaced the neoprene washers for rubber ones ($1.95 each at Clark rubber) and what do you know, problem fixed. Hope this helps a few people.

Those washers should be silicone, not neoprene?
Anyways, rubber may or may not leech off flavours into your beer, I'd be looking for a better silicon replacement

Grab a silicone baking tray for $5, chop it up and you'll have endless custom sized washers!
