One of the sites biggest let downs in the fact that there is just a redirect when you go to http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com - it just redirects you to the forums.

Thats terrible for search engines and rankings.

I'mgoing to start to work hard on some Search Engine optimisations so we can start to build the site up.

I have just added Search Engine friend URLS (as you can see this thread is called http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/Most...t3663-s15.html) so that should help a lot. Hopefully in a week or so we will have a nice new front page and then I will re-add the site to get indexed again.

When that happens I will also be sending out an email about the new site and layout that will hopefully bring back some people that are inactive.

For some wierd reason the site reported this today:

Most users ever online was 353 on Today, 03:45 PM

I imagine it was a search engine or some bot, i'll havr to check the logs later on, but either ay the site has been real busy latest and I want to keep this momentum up and keep the site fresh and interesting.

Dane - With the re-direct, the best thing to do for search engines is to make a homepage, on this page you optimise it as much as possible (use your H1, H2 and image ALT tags), write a blurb on the homepage using as many keywords as possible.

This would make increase your search engine rankings more then the re-direct or the forum hoempage ever would! :D

Yeah I know Sluggerdog, it's on the To-Do list :)

Most members ever online was 59 on Today, 12:59 PM

The total has been reset... should be easy to get 100 with over 3000 members.

It was at the other end of the spectrum when I logged in just 5 mins ago... only 7 members online... is everyone having a RDO today?

Sneaking up to 30 members online now...

We need to collectively lift our game here people!

There are problems with the server, I keep getting booted- I'd say many others are having the same problem.
