Hi The Blue Mountain lager seems to be taking time to clear... I used and ultra pack (dex, maltadex, malt) + steeped Cascade hops, is there anything that would stop it clearing, the last one I made was fine...been in since 24/7.. Does it need more time? Thought it would be clear by now. Do Morgan Kits need gelatin? I normally don't have a problem. Otherwise seems ok....taste is good..

Thanks

No doubt the yeast. Next time you could try a yeast that drops quicker such as Nottingham.

Do you bottle or keg? If bottling then next time try a clearing agent such as Biofine. Apparently it forms a yeast layer at the bottom of the bottle that doesn't swirl up like gelatine does.

Both, keep about 4 bottles and keg the rest... mmm forget to write down yeast used last time.... think it was the kit...... latest one is....
I don't normally have an issue with clearing beers with Coopers...they may have gelatin in kit...
thanks

Mate I am a fan of Morgan's kits and BML is one of them.
I have made similar to your recipe using Morgan's Prem Lager yeast (15g) and dry hopping 2 or so days before crashing to 2 deg until needed and they normally come out very clear without any finnings.
Temp controll is your best friend I find.

Thanks... it is tasting good, will give another week.. seems to have a great head too, cheers
