Qldkev, fire off an email to them. I know they don't have anything listed in their scratch and dent at the moment but it might be worth checking. NickB and I picked up one each from there and it was cosmetic damage basically. The dude is a perfectionist so didn't want to flog them off as the real deal. Cost $100 each AUD delivered, the dollar was stronger back then but it might be worth a shot to save some bucks.

I might be keen, depending on this dollar thing getting better me thinks. Im getting sick of my converted pasta mill

Thanks for the idea. I sent him an email, he does have a couple of units, but for the $ difference not really worth while. The MM2 he wants $83, while a new one is $104. The postage is still the same. If the combined postage works then we can get a quality on for about the same cost.

At the moment it would work out to be $172 for a MM2 + we would need to arrange to get it from Bundy down to you.

I'll be back online thursday arvo, will talk more then.

Since I have been going to 12-15Kg crushes they are get a bit much for my Marga, these mills look good B)

Without turning this into a mill comparison thread my Monster is around 15 months old now and has crushed quite a bit of grain (usually around 9kg per brew). For the price they're a brilliant mill. :)

Couple of points I've found that keep them running well.

Firstly clean them after each brew with a stiff bristled brush. Like a lot of idle roller mills if you get gunk in the rollers (knurling) or the idle roller does not spin freely you won't get it to crush very well.

Secondly keep an eye on the roller set screws and make sure they stay tight. Otherwise your mill gap will slip. Just as a maintenance routine I check my gap every couple of crushes with a set of feeler gauges. It's not beyond the set screws to actually vibrate loose otherwise and I'd say if you use a drill this could be more of an issue.

Other than that you won't be sorry for the purchase. B)

Just had a look at current currency converter and with price on mill and freight you are looking around $AUD202.00 not a bad price. From what I have read they are a bigger roller at 50mm than the Marga and that gives a better nip angle leaving the husk more intact apparently.

The postage $US43 is for either one or two units. So if you go halfs with someone you save $US21.50

Mate, I am keen (if offer is still open), I am in Rocky but. Just checking what he has to offer in the 'scratch and dent' department (if I can save $30, i wont knock it back) ;)

Myself and sunshine_brewer went halves in the postage, so no good for me. Maybe beernut is still after one.

He does have some scratch and dents units, just email him directly. I found for the savings (about $AUD155 vs 180 for a new unit) it wasn't worth looking at them.
