Anyone out there got a micromatic tap?

http://www.craftbrewer.com/shop/details.asp?PID=929

I just bought a font but need to fit 4 taps to it. I was looking at the Craftbrewer site and they say its an "economical" tap. I just want to know if they are any good before I go out and buy 4 of them. Obviously you get what you pay for and everyone raves about the cellis but I really cant afford that much at the moment.

Are they worth buying or should I save and get something a little better?

I have 4 X micromatic (including the "cremer" model).

Very happy with them.

I also have 2 X EK swing taps, a picnic tap, and a guinness tap.

It will all depend on what type of font you have????
Make sure you include the cost of fitting a snaplock conversion kit onto the tap if it's going on a commercial font.

Cheers,

PB

Micromatics are pretty much a standard you won't go wrong with. Its not a cheap tap in the nasty sense, its proberly labelled economical being it cost half as much as a higher end tap.

They are a pretty good choice for a four tap font, you'll save a couple hundred bucks and have taps that will serve you perfectly for years and years.

Indeedy, economical and reliable, I have run 7 for a long time, although it is worth knowing that the action will tend to stick if the tap isnt used for a couple of weeks, so you need to flick them open every now and then to make sure they dont stick.
