Making A Pot A Kettle

Mash tun, check
Imersion chiller, check
Fermentation Fridge, check
SS Pot Check

Now all I have to do is get the hole saw out and take it to the pot and turn it into a man.

So all I need to know is how far from the bottom do I make the hole and whats a good cheap way of putting a tap on it.

the pot is 45lt and im only planning on brewing 23l lots.

How far from the bottom = the first vertical part of the side wall.

Why? Because that way you'll get a good flush seal with your washers/gaskets.

In most pots this turns out to be a bout 1-2" from the bottom.
