Hey guys, ive just got a quick question. Does toucan beer, or even just using liquid malt, need more time in the bottle to mature than using sugar? My first toucan has been bottled for 2 weeks, and im not sure if it didnt turn out right or needs more time.

It will need 4 weeks at least in the bottle to carbonate and condition.

I would put a few extras aside for later on sampling also.

Welcome to the forums!

G'day Clemo

I do believe that an all malt beer takes longer to mature than say a kit and BE2 - it seems to take a bit longer for the 'sweetness' to settle down.

Cheers, Adam

Eight weeks mate. My first toucan stout was damn fine after 4 weeks but now at eight weeks is another level up. Smoother and more blended taste. :chug:

yeah, i did a stupid-hopped ipa that ripped your tounge out till the fourth month. then, beeeeewdiful!

the main thing that has improved my brewing is having more bottles, leading to longer cellaring time.
