Hi people,
bear with me, I like to ramble on.
I will start by admitting I am not a huge beer fan anymore, hope to change that again.
I used to live in north adelaide and thoroughly enjoyed a good tap beer, so many options around there. friday nights at the kings head come to mind, or just a damn good coopers drop.
Then I moved to queensland and found my beloved coopers tastes like crap up here, xxxx is hardly an option and my brother just drinks corona. its ok, but its just beer.
I used to live next to an old german guy, his homebrew was probably some of the best beer I ever tasted. no idea how he did it, i was young, stupid and drunk a lot of the time. I think what changed me was one experience with an RBT, a little over 0.08 and I became sensible, no longer enjoyed a beer at the pub and at home I just tend to sip spirits. beer left my life, i miss it. it left a hole.
anyway, a few months ago i got into making neutrals and now onto rum, now i have fermenters and demijohns sitting around and spat out a quick coopers lager for the missus. she likes it and wants more. I think its average but drinkable but I can see a craft that interests me, keeps my missus happy and benefits my wallet. win
if i get to use a grain mill, big kettles and lots of gas, so be it. lets make beer !
I keep thinking I should discard this post, delete it and just say 'hello' so I don't make an idiot of myself.
what the hell, if I'm going to intro myself, I will do it properly.
oh, I'm somewhere in the middle between 50 and 60, work from home, got 2 dogs, ride old beemers and design electronics for a living..
