Just wanted to vent my spleen (liver?)...SWMBO has offered a free DVD/CD if I desist from the hallowed hobby of beer drinking for a month. How could I resist (not!). However, brewing continues unabated...I've calculated that by the end of the Month of Pain I'll have brewed almost 170 litres. :lol: I think I might ask her to buy me Apocalypse Now in anticipation. h34r:

I'd take a month off for a huge LCD TV, but a CD versus 170L of beer... the maths isn't too hard.

Take out membership at your local library and you'll have a couple of hundred CD's/DVD's for free.

I can get DVD's from my local hire place for $2.50 overnight.

Ask for a better offer.

Alas, hardware is not in the offing. And nothing beer related either. I was going to ask for a 70 litre SS pot but the request was cut short by a quick flick to the nurries. At least I can keep brewing like there was no tomorrow. I think that's part of the reward. You see, she's a teetotaller and has no respect for the Ancient Art.

By the way Whistling Jack, I see you're from Albany originally (but now in Berlin!). I've just bought a few acres down there with the prospect to move. Did you get grain locally when you were brewing there?

Not drinking on Friday is a good idea, I reckon. Hang-overs should only be endured on your employers' time - not on your own. Therefore, Fridays and Saturdays should be AFDs...

My GOD. Things have hit an all time low when the wife thinks she can buy beer abstinence for a month with a CD or DVD. Mine knows better. MUCH better.
I just dealed a 1500kb/s broadband internet account in return for agreeing to minimise my workshop enough to fit into a 6m x 10m shed (down from a 10m x 20m). If she'd ever bothered to get a tape measure out, she would have realised that I was only actually using half the old shed anyway, it was just 'generously spread out'.....it was a cunning plan and it worked......
