Hey guys doing a small boil and if got LDME to add in now do i replace brew sugar with LDME? or still add my sugar in?

You could do both !

How much LDME do you have?

A recipe would help if you wnat some feedback.

you can replace either all or part of the sugar with the ldme, but allow about 1.2X as much malt as per sugar.

ie. if replacing all 1kg sugar use 1.2kg dme

If you do replace all the sugar with LDME also consider adding a tea bag of finishing hops to help balance flavours.

hey guys cheers i am doing a german larger i bag i got from my LHBS i added 1kg of LDME and about 400g of sugar.. already have airlock activity..

With most of the Kits I do I replace 500g of sugar with 600g or so of LDME and Boil in some finishing hops for 10 min.

So Kit 1.7kg
600g LDME
500g Dex
10g to 15g Hops

Boil the hops LDME in 4L water for 10 Min..

Dump it all in the fermenter with 2L ice top up to 23L comes out at about 18c

Brisbane water is about 24c out of the tap
