jerry can tap replacement

my jerry can taps are getting harder and harder to put on as they need to be turned too far to tighten. is it the tap or bunnings jerry can that needs to be replaced?

Try replacing the tap first. Buy a few new taps on your next visit to bunnings - they are only $2 each. You ought to replace the tap every so often anyway, as they are hard to keep clean (unless you disassemble them each time for cleaning, in which case they tend to 'loosen up' over time).
