hi all

has anybody out there got any ideas how to make a version of sundowner lager with kits and bits or small partials? i reckon this is a great beer and will be doing a few lagers this winter and this would be great beer to have a crack at. cheers every1

i asked my homebrew guy the same thing when i picked up my last kit ! (esb bavarian lager)

he hadn't had it unfortunately....

great drop!

i haven't had a lager i've liked since.

had a Boags this weekend, which i was a fan of as far as lagers went but it tasted like garbage.

It's a lager using what I perceive to be noble hops, so I'd say use hallertauer mittelfrueh, and a lager kit with a bit of colour... like a munich helles (munich lager). Should get you close. Use a lager yeast like S-189/, W-34/70, S-23 at around 8-12degC

All,

The hop used for this lager is summer Saaz, straight from the brewers mouth, Mr Hahn.

Cheers

also VERY interested in a recipe for this one. dont know much of lagers or summer saaz for that matter so realy have no idea where to start

And a couple of others...

We have used two Aussie hops, galaxy and summer saaz, plus a bit of English East Kent goldings, to create the grassy aroma," said head brewer Chuck Hahn. "It's very sessionable."

I am going to attempt something similar but using NS & Amarillo.

Cheers, Mat.
