Started brewing seriously at the start of this year (after dabling in it a few times) I now have 3 fermenters going pretty much all the time, fermenting my Partial mash Pale ales.

getting my AG set-up designed at the moment, so it won't be long before I'm brewing up a big storm.


I try and brew, or do something brew-related (like kegging, bottling, brewing) every day or every second day, but its hard with only three fermenters. (time to expand, i think)

I`m Matt, just started brewing last week as a remedy to keep me from trading on the ASX and losing thousands, ready to bottle now and next brew will try to source a keg so I can get into it quicker.



Work as a firey, have wife and 4 kids so need a beeer. I have some friends into brewing who I can probe for info but it seems as there is an endless supply of help available here so thanks to all who post and I`m sure I will have many questions needing answers so thanks in advance too.

I have tried to find a place in the settings area to add an avatar but cannot locate any such button?
One question enough to begin with I think.

Great way to meet up with a bunch of fellow brewers in Adelaide and a great chance to pick the brains of other AG brewers. It a relaxed day of beer and bbqed animals great and small. Will also be a yeast swap on the day with a few bio experienced people showing us how slants are done.

Hey, I'm Mitch, I live in Kalgoorlie WA working on the mines. I've got 3 brews currently conditioning, and 3 in the fermenter as I type. I cracked open my first brew I put down after conditioning it for six weeks last week, and gotta say I love it!

haha, its rough mate, let me tell you, the anxiety caused by choosing between, kingfish cuttlets or lobster and what beer to crack.

Hi All,
After finishing a double degree in Finance & I.T. I decided to travel the world.
Got busted for an internet scam in Spain, fled to The Netherlands where I became involved in drug trafficking.
My trafficking aquaintances in Germany got me into making some European style porn. This was massive as the Euro was just in and the Czech's wanted more & more. The money skimmed from the internet scam was invested in shelf companies on the stock market, which made massive profits in such a short time period. I sold all shares in one hit and cashed up. This attracted the interest of Interpol. Again fled, this time to Sth America, where I got caught up in the counterfeiting of $US. This lasted a while in Brazil until the illegal brothal I partly financed tried to bribe gov officials with the fakes. Had to flee Brazil and ended up with a fake NZ passport, re-entered Aus via Bali.
Now I brew beer.

Howdy All,

My name is Shimple. Just joned the AHB Community. Been brewing kits for about 6 years. I progressed from bottles to kegs approx 2 years ago. Then 4 weeks ago i tried my first partial grain brew. I will never brew another kit again. I am amazed at the flavour derived from the grain.

Looking forward to as much advice as possible, as i venture into becoming serious about AG brewing.

Interesting crew.

Just started brewing. I gave a mead a bash about a decade back (and it took nearly the full 10 years to taste decent), but I don't think that really counts. I've done a couple of kits (the one that came with my Coopers Kit and a Toohey's Dark), and that's about it.

I want to move into partials, and do as much as I can do with basic equipment before moving up. Though that probably won't be for a year or so.

I'm not an international fugitive. h34r: I've only been to Japan and Malaysia. Loved both places. The food was great, though I must admit I didn't even know about Japan's craft breweries. I'm a country girl who's just moved down to the city to live. There are good and bad things about the city. I miss my good mates, but have managed to make a few new ones. I spend way too much money socialising here - I hope homebrewing will help with that . At least it will provide cheap brews for parties.

Hi all,
I've been on the site for a while now but I must admit, I read more than I write. I rarely get down the homepage past the Brewshed so I only saw this thread for the first time today.

I'm a technology Studies teacher from Brisbane with a wife, an 18 month old son and a mortgage so I'm still doing kits and bits at the moment due to restraints on time and money. Thankfully, this site has been a source of sanity when brewing withdrawl hits me.

I've had my first few extract and partial brews pre-planned for a while now but the kits and bits are keeping my stocks up until I get a bit more gear.

Cheers to anyone who has helped me with questions so far.

G'day all,

I've been reading this site for quite a while now but never really got around to posting much. I took over the laundry for my brewery about 18 months ago now. Mostly kits + bits and a lately couple of all extract brews, but did my first AG on the weekend. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
